Copyright
This website is operated by The Family Law Book Pty Ltd (“the company”), publishers of The Family Law Book under licence from The Family Law Book Unit Trust (“the Trust”), the owner of copyright in respect of the website and The Family Law Book.
No material from this website may be copied or otherwise used in any way without the prior written consent of the Trust, except that subscription to The Family Law Book conveys to the subscriber membership of the website entitling that member to copy material from a single computer for their own use (except any content protected by other holders of copyright) during the life of their subscription.
Subscription and online licence
1. Subscription to The Family Law Book will entitle the subscriber to one of the following:
The Family Law Book Hard Copy Package, being a loose-leaf service in an A-4 binder in library buckram, kept current for twelve months by means of quarterly updates for insertion by the subscriber (with members' website, including the online E-Book).
A licence for the access to its website www.thefamilylawbook.com.au and use of its online forms and precedents for twelve months, for the limited purpose of which copyright is waived PROVIDED THAT the republishing or other use of The Family Law Book's hard copy or online precedents for commercial gain other than in the ordinary course of precedent use in a subscribed lawyer's practice is prohibited.
Access to The Family Law Book’s legal help line, via a 24 hour e-mail response on matters relating to family law and procedure via our online Legal Help. The extent of this help is unlimited, within reason at the discretion of The Family Law Book.
Subscription to The Family Law Book's Members' Practice News (for up to the minute court and child support practice and other developments and our monthly "latest notable cases"), Members' Archive (for back issue case notes assembled by topic, useful papers and client brochures), and the chance to win a monthly prize for Best Contribution via our online Contributions.
The online licence will apply irrespective of the number of users who work or practise from the location specified in the subscriber’s subscription application. Where online access is required at more than one office location by a subscriber, or at more than one campus by an institutional subscriber, the subscriber must subscribe afresh for each such location. Unauthorised use, such as from a non-subscribing office location, can be monitored and would lead to a request to desist or subscribe.
A user’s password in respect of the location applicable to the online licence will be amended annually so as to ensure that the licence is at all times held exclusively for the benefit for users who work or practise and continue to work or practise from that location.
Technical support via our online Contact Us.
Additional hard copies (with updates) are available to subscribers at a substantial discount, as are replacement binders and pages.
At the end of each year's subscription, subscribers will be invited to renew their subscription for another year by means of a debit to their credit card in the amount of the then applicable renewal fee as posted on our website. If the annual renewal payment is not transacted on or before the due date, the subscription is automatically programmed to be ‘invalid’ and the subscriber will be disconnected from access to the members' website until the payment is received; OR
2. The Family Law Book E-Book Package, being the electronic version of the Hard Copy Package with members' website as specified above and subject to the same conditions set out above; OR
3. The Family Law Book Latest Notable Cases Package – for non-subscribers to 1 or 2 above (both of which include Latest Notable Cases), being twelve monthly reviews of the latest notable family law cases delivered by email in Word format and subject to the same conditions set out above as to renewal of subscription.
